A Troubled Upbringing Julian Assange, an Australian citizen by birth, is one of the only known associates of WikiLeaks. A Bachelor of Science dropout from the University of Melbourne, Assange had a very disrupted and troubled childhood due to the bitter divorce of his parents . He took up hacking at a very young age . At the age of 21, he was arrested by the Australian federal police on charges of hacking into the computers of an Australian University, the United States Air Force 7th Command Group in the Pentagon, and other organizations.... Wikileaks WikiLeaks, which describes itself as an online, not-for-profit international media organization, published submissions of private, secret, and classified media from anonymous news sources, news leaks, and whistle-blowers. Its stated objective is to bring important news and information to the public. The website was officially launched in 2007, after which it released a number of significant documents which became front page news items, much to the embarrassment of different Governments and organizations... American Press: The Fourth Estate The United States of America had always been in the forefront in championing the cause of the freedom of the press and freedom of speech accorded to its citizens through the First Amendment to the constitution.
